Biography

Roberta Schmid works at NewsGuard, focused on combating AI-driven disinformation. Her work centers on how AI-generated false content — across text, image, audio, and video — increasingly evades non-expert detection, and specifically on how disinformation contaminates chatbot responses to news-related queries. NewsGuard conducts monthly audits of major AI chatbots to track and improve their reliability on news content.
