Biography
Maria Galindo Garcia-Delgado is the Secretary for Digital Policies of the Government of Catalonia, where she leads the region's digital policy agenda, including the deployment of Catalunya's €1 billion artificial intelligence strategy through 2030. She has over 20 years of experience in public policy and consulting, specialized in digital policy, smart cities, and international affairs, with previous roles as Director-General for Digitalisation and Urban Agenda and at Barcelona City Council, where she drove the city's smart city vision and managed BIT Habitat.
She brings a policy-maker's perspective on how governments turn digital strategy into real infrastructure, talent, and adoption — from sovereign cloud and connectivity to AI in public administration. Appointed by the European Commission to the board of the EU Mission for 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities, she operates at the intersection of technology, cities, and European policy.
Her perspective is especially relevant for audiences interested in public AI strategy, digital sovereignty, and how regions position themselves in the global AI race.
