Biography
Steffen Fuchs is a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company and global leader of McKinsey's Industrials practice, based in Dallas. He has spent more than 25 years advising CEOs and boards, with prior managerial experience at DaimlerChrysler. His focus is AI-driven transformation in industrial sectors including automotive, semiconductors, energy, and transport. He leads McKinsey's Rewired AI Immersion programme for industrial companies and advises on pricing optimisation, factory yield improvement, demand sensing, and predictive service via AI.

The reason is increasingly clear: most companies are putting powerful new technology into organizations designed for a pre-AI world. They automate tasks, add copilots and deploy agents, while leaving the underlying workflows, decision rights and management structures largely untouched. The next wave of AI value will come from changing that. For industrial companies in particular, AI creates an opportunity to rethink not only individual tasks, but how expertise, decisions and work flow across the enterprise. This session will explore why AI winners are moving beyond productivity to redesign their operating models around AI: concentrating on the few domains where AI can create strategic advantage, rewiring end-to-end workflows rather than bolting AI onto existing processes, and building organizations in which humans and AI agents work together at a fundamentally different speed and scale.
