Biography
Sophie Cornay is Business Unit Manager of the AI Lab at Qonto, where she leads the initiative for integrating agentic AI into financial operations for SMEs and self-employed workers across Europe. Before joining Qonto, she founded and ran Chosen for eight years, a B2B2C SaaS marketplace she grew to over 90,000 monthly users and €1M+ in annual revenue.
At Qonto, she leads a startup embedded within the company, shipping AI agents directly into the product with a mission to eliminate the "second job" that administrative overhead creates for entrepreneurs. Her team is building on top of one of the most advanced in-house agent platforms in European fintech. Her work centers on agentic AI applied to concrete workflows: invoice management, payment tracking, operation categorization, and real-time financial visibility for SME operators. She emphasizes that AI assists, prepares, and clarifies, but does not displace human responsibility, especially in financial decisions.

Fireside 2 — Agents That Touch Real Money
Tuesday 22 September, 17:20 – 17:35Auditorium StageMost AI-in-finance sessions are about what could be automated. Sophie Cornay runs Qonto AI, a team of ten shipping agentic workflows into a live banking product used across Europe: invoice handling, payment tracking, categorisation, real-time cash visibility. That means agents operating where mistakes cost money and someone has to be accountable for them. This fireside is about the line she drew — what an agent decides, what it never decides, what broke in production, and what actually slows a team down when the product is regulated. A working account of shipping agents in finance, not a forecast.
