Demo 12 - When anyone can build, the person who decides WHAT to build becomes the bottleneck
Tuesday 22 September, 15:30 – 15:55Demo StageEngineering output has exploded. At leading AI companies, a five-person team now ships what fifteen used to. At Bricks, an AI proptech startup I shipped 10+ production AI agents in 3 months. Alone with Claude Code as my unfair advantage. But the part of product work that actually decides whether you build the right thing — getting six people in a room to agree hasn't gotten any faster because it can't. Alignment lives in Slack threads and kickoff meetings and then evaporates. There's nowhere for an LLM to automate it. The result: a compressed PM-to-engineering ratio where the bottleneck has quietly moved from "can we build it" to "do we know what to build, and does everyone agree." This talk is about what breaks when that compression hits, what I got wrong shipping solo at Bricks, and 4 shifts/changes builders need to make now whether you're a PM, an engineer, or a founder watching your team try to figure out who owns what.
