Use Case 1 - Product Discovery is finally solved: Introducing Perception Models
Tuesday 22 September, 14:00 – 14:25Main StageLarge marketplaces and ecommerce have a discovery problem that traditional recommendation systems were not built to solve: every item is unique, catalogs change rapidly, and metadata is inconsistent. Hundreds of thousands of new listings enter the catalog every day with no impressions or interaction history - effectively invisible to legacy systems. The result is a discovery experience that remains static as users browse, click, and refine their interests, while newly listed items can take days to surface. Albatross has solved this problem with perception models. This new class of AI learns from live user behavior, understands user intent in real time, and reshapes discovery as each session unfolds - while every new unique item becomes immediately discoverable. In this talk, we will also explore live deployments and in particular our partnership with Wallapop, one of the first C2C marketplaces globally to move toward in-session, adaptive discovery that understands user intent as it unfolds, and advancing user engagement and seller visibility at unprecedented scale.
