Biography
Jon Thomas is VP of Engineering at Amenitiz, the Barcelona-based hospitality SaaS company, where he is running one of the more complete agentic-first engineering transformations in European scale-ups: spec-driven agentic development as the org-wide standard, AI capability written into the engineering levelling framework as table stakes, and delivery culture rebuilt around engineers working alongside agents. At Amazon he led the Alexa teams responsible for automated knowledge extraction, building applied ML systems that pulled structured knowledge out of unstructured text to answer questions for millions of customers. As Director of Engineering at Deliveroo he scaled the Restaurants engineering org from 20 to over 100 through hypergrowth, IPO and profitability, running 15 tier-0 services for global restaurant partners. Earlier, at Pivotal, he partnered with Toyota and Nissan on autonomous vehicle and shared-mobility platforms.
