Prof. Dr. Thorsten O. Zander is Founder and Chief Scientist of Zander Labs, a German-Dutch DeepTech company pioneering passive brain-computer interfaces (pBCI) and neuroadaptive technology. A respected researcher in human-computer interaction, he invented the concept of passive BCIs that enable technology to understand and adapt to human mental states in real time without invasive procedures. Thorsten holds the Lichtenberg Professorship for Neuroadaptive Human-Computer Interaction at Brandenburg University of Technology, where he has led research since 2020. His work bridges neuroscience, AI, and ethics, addressing how neuroadaptive systems can enhance productivity and wellbeing while protecting privacy of thought. He has collaborated with Microsoft, Volkswagen, Airbus, and published extensively on RLHF integration with pBCI technology.
