Biography
Robert Brunner is founder and partner of Ammunition, the San Francisco design studio behind iconic products for Adobe, Polaroid, and Square, honored with the Smithsonian's 2016 National Design Award. He co-launched Beats by Dre in 2008 with Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre, designing every headphone and speaker in the brand's $3 billion acquisition by Apple in 2014—including Beats Studio, Solo, Powerbeats, and the Pill speaker. Before Ammunition, Robert was Director of Industrial Design at Apple (1989–1996), where he built Apple IDg, the pioneering in-house design group, led development of the PowerBook, and hired Jonathan Ive three times. He co-founded Lunar Design in 1981 after graduating from San Jose State and later became partner at Pentagram's San Francisco office. Robert's philosophy: great design doesn't just work—it inspires, empowers, and transforms culture, challenging leaders to reject "good enough" and take creative risks that generate billions.
